Republicans need moderate voters to win national and many statewide elections. By declaring that you don't want the votes of moderates indicates that you aren't interested in winning elections. And not every believer thinks it proper to bring God into the conversation as they see religious beliefs as a highly personal matter. They resent conservatives for pimping religious beliefs in the service of political agendas. Flipping the bird at the millions of Americans that dislike the mixing of religion and politics is hardly a winning strategy. But go on and keep whistling past the graveyard and continue to struggle to win national and statewide elections.
And thanks for proving my point. Your statement "...and started acting more like they really recognize our God as He is." reveals your own religious zealotry when it comes to politics.
