"If an unbeliever offers to buy a cake from you, sell it without raising questions of conscience. But if someone says to you, 'This cake is for a gay wedding celebration,' then do not sell the cake, both for the sake of the one who told you it was for a gay wedding, and for the sake of conscience. I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours." (a paraphrase from I Corinthians Chapter 10) Christian business owners who are committed to following Biblical principles will always act on the basis of principle rather than profit in cases such as the one on which Prager bases this column. It is not surprising that nonbelievers would have a hard time with that one. It is incredibly sad that the exercise of religious freedom guaranteed in our Constitution is now punished as an illegal act.
