That does not change the fact that she could have initiated a no-fault divorce against you. You would have been compelled to appear in Court, respond to the suit, and ultimately divide the assets equitably. You would have then been free to marry another woman with those same conditions above as you saw fit. The beauty of divorce law is that it completely separates the religious and government aspects of Marriage.
