I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever. - Thomas Jefferson
Deism (Listeni/'di?.?z?m/ or /'de?.?z?m/) is the belief that reason and observation of the natural world are sufficient to determine the existence of God, accompanied with the rejection of revelation and authority as a source of religious knowledge.
The definition of deism and this quote by Jefferson are mutually exclusive. The only way to know God is just is through the revelation of the Bible for nature does not teach that.
