The media has modified the history of Slavery, cutting it off at the shores of Africa and blaming white America for the entirety. Here's some facts: Slavery continued in Africa until 1984 and vestiges still survive in Muslim areas. African kings and potentates promoted the exportation of their own people for gain (guns, trade goods, rum, etc.). South America was also a major destination for slaves, but there is little white guilt there. Slavery ended in America's Southern States in 1865, not "decades ago"; it never was accepted in the North. The Civil War was about stopping the advance of Slavery and resulted in the end of that institution. Over 300,000 Union soldiers died and who knows how many were injured fighting to stop slavery. America is a better place for Africans than Africa, or any other country for that matter.
