From The Article: "III. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord, thy God, in vain. (Look, taking the name of God in vain just doesn’t mean Nancy yelling GD when the Botox needle strikes a nerve in her forehead. It also means invoking His name for insidious and deceptive reasons.) Taking the Lord thy God's name in vain needs clarification. For example...when one puts forth an effort that is a total failure in the results category, we often say that the effort was 'in vain'...meaning the results desired did not come to pass. Operation 'Market Garden' from WW II comes to mind. Biblically, to take the Lord's Name in vain meant to give lip service to the Almighty..yet Completely IGNORE your responsibility to line your life up with what He actually commands. This provides a good explanation of why, in the Gospels, Jesus Christ so often repeated to the Scribes, Pharisees and Scribes..these words: "Thou Hypocrites" Hey Nancy !! You WILL be expected to give an account of every word. Check out the book of Romans for further guidance.....you are in for a BIG surprise some day....and you CANNOT deceive the Father of Lights.
