This hits close to home for me. I was a manager of CWA employees, the majority of whom did not wish to be part of CWA. When the CWA declared strikes, most of my staff crossed picket lines and a few of them paid thousands of dollars in fines to the union. They all paid full union dues. NRLB rules prohibited me from fully informing them but I urged several of them to seek out legal assistance since I knew that they could receive economic relief but none ever did -- they were both afraid of the costs and afraid of further retaliation.
