Interestingly, as a former Methodist, I find myself siding with the the preacher more than Prager. That's because I'm concerned with the mindset that many view God as something akin to celestial room service--here to do our bidding rather than acknowledging Him as the Holy being that He is.
I'm thankful that God has blessed our land and pray He will continue to do so. We should consider our roles and responsibilities to faithfully serve Him as we have been blessed. Whether we stand or sit or doff our caps matters little to Him. What we do or say do along the way does.
My read of the preacher's comment is we shouldn't be forcing our beliefs on others.
