Coming from a mixed family (four continents and growing...) I'd have to say that the most race-conscious group in the U.S. are black Americans. One just doesn't see it so consistently with any other group. Those in my family... well, I find the idea of taking the events of the distant past and using it as an excuse to hate whites, asians, mexicans, etc. disgusting. If nothing else, 99%+ of the world's population was enslaved prior to the emancipations of the 1800s. Whether you called a person a serf, a slave, a coolie, a servant, or some other name, they were slaves. The idea of only one group not being able to move on is sick. I wonder what my future wife— who grew up under the slavery of communism— thinks when she sees so many black...
