I have never wondered why people are so quick to assume to guilty/innocent status of those in Gitmo. If they haven't been tried, if they haven't been convicted of anything, we truely don't know.
Wouldn't we expect that ANY American who is held captive by another nation get a trial of some kind, no matter what they are accused of doing. Yes we would expect other countries to give US citizens the right to a trial.
I love the United States and I believe we have the greatest country in the world. That being said, on the international stage our motto might as well be "Do as we say, not as we do."
