Hahaha. Okay, so how many guns change hands at gun shows between private sellers without a background check? If its not 40% of all sales, it's still a pretty high number, so what's the problem???
Put more simply, many of us on the pro-gun control side don't think any guns should be transferred without a background check. So having the exception at all puts the onus on the proponents to articulate a legitimate reason why it's needed at all. To this point, I'm not sure the right has come up with a compelling reason to allow even one such transfer.
