While the rest of the column is merely a rehash of the issue, there is a bit of a problem with the kickoff point -- "(M)arried women were asked, ‘In your opinion, do you think it is all right for a woman to have sexual relations before marriage with a man she knows she is going to marry?
...86% said no."
The 86% said it wasn't "right," does not mean they didn't do it. I was raised in the upper middle class, in a conservative community, attended strict Catholic schools, and at age 18 I was the last virgin among the 1956 HS graduates. Agreeing that something is right means nothing. I guess one needs a good Catholic school education, in order to know how to think and write an argument.
