Religion isn't so much the problem so the answer to your question is no. This is really about being denied benefits based on marital status. Here is my stance. Why should you have to make the state a third party in your relationship in order to gain inheritance rights, tax privileges or even benefits from yet a fourth party? This is the real problem. Any single heterosexual would agree. Instead of redefining marriage we should fix this obvious discrimination.
