This is an example of something I have said many times, Give the American people a good idea, in this case environmentalism and they will drive it to the ridiculous. Environmentalism was a good idea in the 1960s but zealots have long since passed the point of reasonableness. When those of us, in the 1960s, were railing against dumping raw sewage into rivers and factories spewing gases, from smoke stacks, into the air, most of us were oblivious to taking a 5 acre tract in an existing metropolis, for a few extra buildings. The government has long since surpassed it's usefulness in this regard. Probably half or more of the current regulations should be repealed in favor of stringent enforcement of the remaining statutes. It's gov. gone awry.
