I guess now we will have to debate the "distance test." If the distance to the hospital determines whether we can try to save a struggling baby's life, then how far must we transport a heart attack victim or the injured in a car accident? Then what is the limit? Five miles? Ten miles? Will we then begin establishing how long after birth we can ignore the struggling person? One hour? Two? Maybe two years? Must we "intervene" and "conclude" the abortion by strangulation or stabbing? Perhaps the method that is used in partial birth abortions: severing the spinal column or crushing the baby's head or sucking out his/her brains. So glad we have progressed beyond the ancient Roman custom of exposing the child until death!
