The only important justifiable reason we fought the War in Iraq was Hussein's vioaltion of the terms of the 1991 Armistice. It is linked to the verifiability that Iraq possessed no WMDs available for use by Iraq (but not the sole violation of the Treaty). Nation building should not be an objective of declared war. It should be treated as a separate issue. It was somehow linked. This is a failure of our leaders to understand the fundamental concept of war. We are all to blame for accepting lame political leadership brought to bear by both major political parties. If we do not understand war, how can we possibly hope to understand politics?
