do you have any proof of this (from a realiable source)? To me, polygamy is very different from SSM if for no other reason than how Social Security is paid and how survivors are taken care of. In other words, if Bill is working and paying into SS and he dies, it makes no difference to me or society if his survivor is named John or Joan...that person should be entitled to the same SS benefis regardless......but.....if Bill had 6 wives, society shouldn't have to pay benefits to all of those widows. And, you might say that SS wouldn't have to pay all of them....but then you'd run the risk of 5 of the widows now being dependant on the state. These issues simply do not exist in SSM (more than they would vs a standard male/female relationship.
