I think that the government is becoming a Nanny state but the smoking issue is bogus. I twas not limiting personal freedom, it was regulating shared common space. Your neighborhood could have a noise ordinance to limit your neighbor's fully amped garage band from waking you at 3 AM. We have zoning laws, vagrant law, pet law all to limit the interactions between people who want to share common space & common resources. I think that anyone should be able to smoke anywhere ... if they enclose their heads in a filtered, self contained bubble. People did similar things with the boom boxes & portable radios they carried, called ear buds. Limiting what you do to yourself violates freedom but not if it affects others too.
