(cont...) Are drugs bad for a user? Many are yes. But the govt should not have the ability to stop someone from doing something solely because it harms the user. If a person wants to harm themselves with alcohol, heroin, meth, or frifried chicken, the government should not be able to stop them. The govt is not meant to protect a person from his or her self. It may be morally wrong to do drugs, but that alone is not enough to criminalize the behavior. We need a more limited government, not a more powerful government. Criminalizing victimless crimes (drugs, prostitution, gambling) just allow the government to have more control over us.
