Look at Chicago teachers. They earn an average of $100k per year, in a city where the average family of 4 earns less than $50k. The union says the high salaries are because SOME of their teachers have Masters degrees, BFD, I am a CPA with an MBA and the starting salary at companies I worked for was around $45k to $65k, employees at REAL (non government) jobs do not earn that much until after 5 of 6 years, and they only get 2 weeks paid vacation after a year and 3 weeks after 5 years service; not 3 months vacation, in the summer, and another month between winter and spring breaks, (I dare not say Christmas and Easter Breaks) after 1 year.
