My culture believes a father should work hard to adequately provide for his family, but also that a father should be present in his children's lives to provide religious, moral, and cultural guidance. Therefore, I have deliberately made decisions that limited my own financial success, in order to increase my success in other areas my culture deems more valuable. I'm perfectly aware my culture has limited my financial success. Does that mean I deem it inferior? Quite the opposite. The difference between me and multiculturalists is I don't blame the wealthy or expect them to rectify it. If I wanted more wealth, I would adopt more aspects of that culture. I'm secure enough about my cultural choices to accept the negative and positive.
