The fact that we allow this to happen, repeatedly, speaks volumes about our resolve. What, supposedly, Sen Murray's "budget" proposes is that we reduce our DEFICITS by $1.85 trillion over 10 years. That's deficits not debt. Deficits are what happens when we spend more, in one budget year, than what we take in. We have averaged something like $900 billion per year. So what they're proposing is that we only overspend by $785 billion each year instead of $900 billion. It's chicanery of the worst sort....and the fact that we allow, both Republicans and Democrats the same, to get away with this every single year says more about us than it does them.
