I would like to have a vote on the choice (more govt.,same level govt.,less govt.), but that will never be on the ballot.
I would like to have a real vote for Congress or President, but my district is so blue that the Democrat doesn't campaign and only heeds the party congress, while the Republican never gets any media coverage. Not that it would matter.
So I think of this: Saying that voting constitutes only one part of the
political process, RATM's missive, in perhaps a bit
of foreshadowing, then states, "Protest
movements, demonstrations, strikes, civil
disobedience, art, literature, and conflict have
always had more influence in this country than the
vote." --Rage Against the Machine, Aug 2000
