We are told all the time (when speaking of immigration..) that Federal law trumps State law. The Constitution being the big dog when it comes to laws, and it states in very clear and simple language, in the 2nd amendment of the bill of rights, “the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” No mention of anyone’s ability to infringe because of their elected/appointed position or extreme intelligence. I guess it’s not beyond the purview of some politician to pass a law that citizens must arm themself for their own protection, since he know’s his public safety force is not adequate. The voters have the right to impeach the over reaching pol, but IMHO they are not infringing on the right to own a gun.
