It's a pity someone wasn't there to say "actually Senator, you're dead wrong. Statistics actually ARE on her side. Two studies have been done since the '80s, one by Alan J. Lizotte, in 1986; and another by Gary Kleck, Social Problems, in 1990. Another paper by Lawrence Southwick in 2000 supports their conclusions -- when confronted by a rapist, a woman's best chances of escaping without injury were, in descending order: resist with a gun, submit to whatever the rapist chooses to do, and resist without a gun. You want to deprive women of their best counter to a man's greater strength. Your party likes to accuse the opposition of waging a 'war on women,' but from where I'm sitting senator, it sure looks like it's the other way round.
