I think it is because most of the main stream media are traditionally democrat. The journalists think that there needs to be good done for people - which is true - but they want the government to do it - which results typically in waste - and extra taxes that no one can afford. The democrats have (as well as Republicans) been going farther and farther left - ever so slowly. The frog in the frying pan syndrome. It is not - or shouldn't be about his skin color (although the main stream media tends to throw the race card way too easily). No, they support him because they believe he is a trustworthy democrat. He has his good points, but they are few and far between. He is far left of most democrats - this needs to be emphasized.
