NASA has been running a program called the "Near Earth Objects" program for years and
has found over 3000 asteroids moving around the solar system that pass from time to time
near Earth. What is correct is that it is possible to project the NEOs orbits years in advantage
and make excellent projections of whether they pose a threat. Our problem is that we currently
do not have a solution of what to do if an asteroid capable of ending life on Earth heads our way,
such as the 7 mile in diameter one that killed out the dinosaurs 65 million year ago.
