The Roman Catholic Church isn't the entirety of Christianity - although I note that the RCC continues to grow because of the influx of Hispanic immigrants (at least the ones who don't join evangelical churches). Evangelical Protestantism is alive and thriving, frequently in a non-denominational context that doesn't lend itself to gathering statistics. Mainstream Protestant denominations are going through schisms (Episcopal, Lutheran, Presbyterian) where the conservatives who departing form thriving churches even as the liberal remnants wither.
