And btw, while we test truth and logic against factual experience, principled reasoning does not base truth on experience per se. If the experience does not confirm the principle, then we have to rethink our assumptions, but principled reasoning ultimately has its origin in what Kant called "the moral law within." Experience and empirical reasoning is the cross-check, not the basis.
