Fair enough. You are using exactly the same argument Virginia used to justify laws against interracial marriage in the Loving v. Virginia case. The state argued that the black women had exactly the same rights as anyone else, because she was free to marry the unrelated single consenting black person of her choice. Similarly, her husband was free to marry any unrelated consenting single white woman of his choosing. They had equal rights under the law, according to the state of Virginia. The Supreme Court ruled that "separate but equal" was not equal in that case, and it isn't here either.
