Its no surprise hearing about the problems in Afganistan. We shouldn't keep doing the same thing expecting a different result. It is already the longest war in US history. I have no doubt we do plenty of good there. The problem is that victory (or an end to the war) was never defined. The "War on Terror" is such that it sets the stage for perpetual war and conflict. There is no end as long as the enemy is not defined and the definition of victory is not defined.
Remaining bogged down in a military occupation is not the way to go.
