To say that he was "wrong about most everything" is to be willfully blind. It's a known fact that there were literally hundreds of communist spys and sympathizers in our government in those days (specifically the State Dept). Rooting them out was necessary. The Constitutionality of his process was questionable (at worst), but to complain about his civility is moronic. The civility against him was way worse than what he dished out.
