I really think there are some good ideas here based on research and implementation results. Extra police are needed for crime ridden intercity neighborhoods, not the city as a whole. In rural areas, lack of funding has reduced a law enforcement profile to nil, along with release of prisoners, resulting in more drug related crime. Our society has many ills, and not articulating the problems accurately contributes to the lack of debate and solutions. Violence is and always has been a problem in many aspects of society and culture. Government does have a place in helping to control some of these problems. Concentrating on where violence occurs, and being honest about the culture that perpetrates it the most, would be a good start for
