I am sorry for your childhood loss and for your O.C.D. My father died when I was ten, but I had a second father in my mother's father and a cherishing extended family, and, most of all, a very loving mother. Fortunately I have not had O.C.D. although I am very orderly set very high standards so that some of my friends think that I am too much that way. I was in the Harvard College class of 1944, but the leftism did not rub off on me. Functioning good fathers are highly needed and too many children are growing up fatherless. Growing up is hard enough without any extra handicaps. It's been a long time since I was a child-I'm 91.
