In 1987, a researcher took a sample from the OBITUARY pages of several big city newspapers and realized that the average age in SOME of them for men who had died of AIDS related diseases was middle age. This was prior to any retro viral medications or other effective education and preventive measures available at the time and early in the incursion of HIV/AIDS. With that small amount of information, which the compassionate members of society used to accelerate medical research and funding for education and information, succeeded in advancing treatment so that people with HIV now live to normal life expectancy.
