One thing you didn't mention is that the vast majority of "minimum wage" workers are part time workers, not full time wage earners. Beside some losing their jobs with an increase in the minimum wage, all persons with higher salaries would, by necessity, have to receive raises, or they too would, in time, become "minimum wage" employees. The other factor is that costs of goods and services would go up and the fortunate few that received the new minimum would be right back where they started.
