I'm sorry, but history just plain isn't on your side of the argument. Where exactly have the higher paying jobs been created in the USA since NAFTA, or China was allowed into the WTO? Is the standard of living in the USA generally increasing or declining? There are plenty of historical examples of times when trade policies have been used as weapons, you would do well to read about those periods before discussing anyone else's ignorance.
