"People want a king." No, not all people want a king or a ruler. However, most of those who fall victim to the cult of personality or are enamored with celebrity are weak and needy like spoiled children. Others believe that some enlightened and benevolent autocrat will rise above the individualist natures of people. They desire some person who's greater than themselves because they only see their own faults. But they forget that all men have faults and that power corrupts and benevolence soon becomes suffocating and then turns into oppression. True, some people want a Big Brother or an Obama, but as for me, I'd rather live free in anarchy than as a slave in a padded cell.
