Friedman is wrong. It is not well meaning groups that support raising minimum wages, it is pandering politicians and unions. Politicians preach increased "living" wages while demonizing business profits - code for they are stealing money from workers by reaping huge profits that they can use to absorb any increase in the cost of doing business without raising the cost of product. Minimum wage is the wage for UNSKILLED workers. Once that wage is increased, skilled union workers stand in line for their increase. All prices increase, so the pay raise does not cover the COLA and not only unskilled but also skilled workers are fired. It plays to the uninformed who elected Obama.
