The "R" word Marc Lamont Hill should be looking into is "redress". If Chris Dorner felt he had been wronged, he had every right to seek redress of his grievance. That is guaranteed by the first amendment. What is guaranteed is the right to seek redress but there is no guarantee that every grievance will be redressed.
Nobody, repeat nobody, has a right to exact revenge. Maybe he was wronged. It doesn't matter. Once he stepped over the line from petitioning for redress to extracting revenge he stepped over the line none of us is permitted, in a civil society, to cross. He was not a epic anti-hero, he was a murderer and acted completely outside the law. There is absolutely nothing redeeming in the story of Chris Dorner's rampage.
