I don't think Obama has the power to simply "waive" laws, deportation or otherwise. Unless I am mistaken, there is no national emergency surrounding the issue of those in the U.S. illegally and absent a clear and present danger to our national security, there is no authority granted to the executive branch that allows flexibility in which portions of the law he can simply ignore. I know that Republicans are as busy pandering to Hispanics, the group comprising the largest segment of those here illegally but they have an obligation to uphold the law, "even if the president won't." This is only acceptable if the rest of us can make subjective determinations of which laws we agree with as well. Do they really want to go down that road?
