This is a mere statement of fact. Bell physically traveled to the violently hostile racist environment of the U.S. South to help enforce United States laws already passed by the United States Congress and signed by the President of the United States. Senator Barry Goldwater and Governor/President Ronald Reagan vigorously and vocally opposed legislation that would grant equal rights and protections to all Americans of all ethnicities. Theses are simply indisputable facts. Yet, one person replies to you that "you have it backwards...It was a Republican majority in the passing of the 'Civil Rights Act of 1964'…majority of Democrats were opposed to the act."
