There was order, ritual, refinement of manners, and the expectation of acting nobly and well if you were born into the peerage classes. And these virtues defined a gentleman and a lady. The servant classes had a place to grow and serve and become all they could be as well. They accepted their positions without resentment, as Downton Abbey demonstrates, and they were grateful to have a position where they could show excellence and pride in their work. Class defined a proper position for all and yet gave opportunity to rise and serve others. Leftists of today are thugs in manners and actions, fitting Ann Coulter's description of the mob to a T. They care nothing for God, duty or country.
