Reading the 2011 annual report (I do not think the 2012 annual report has been published), GM states that the accumulated pension obligations total roughly $108 Billion and the fair value of plan assets totals $94 billion, which leaves a unfunded pension obligation of $14 billion and not $100 billion. Found on page 130 of annual report. Found at http://www.gmannualreport.com/common/documents/2011_GM_Annual_Report.pdf GM has $141.2 billion in pension obligations and has $108.8 billion in pension assets. leaving a total shortfall of $32.4 billion. Have they solved their financial problems?
