I thought hating American industrial companies was the bailiwick of the left, but Mr. Ransom seems to have more than his share of contempt for Genera, Motors.
Some facts: The Volt was never meant to be the company's savior. The Volt predated the US bailout of GM. In fact, one of the reasons the Feds bailed GM out was because they were so close to producing the Volt. While it is true that Volt sales are only a fraction of projections, projected sales represented only a sliver of total revenues. Once again, the Volt was never meant to be the company's savior. If GM overestimated the size of the alternatively fueled market, so did a lot of other company's, most economists and marketing prognosticators, as well as most government experts.
