Cars and trucks powered by propane or natural gas have shorter range than gas or diesel cars and trucks due to the large heavy tanks and lower btu content of the fuel. My father had a truck converted to propane and it averaged about 10 mpg. That was with no load in it. Got 5 mpg towing their trailer hence the 85 gallon tank that took up about 2 feet of bed space and weighed an extra 200 pounds when empty.
