I lived in north central ohio in the winter of 1978, 35 years ago in late January. I lived on the second floor above a bar, right on the square, next to the courthouse and the sheriff's office. I woke up that morning with snow drifts halfway up my windows! That was about twenty feet off the ground. The alley beside the building was comparitvely empty, because the wind out of the South simply used it as a tunnel to continue on north. The Sheriff's office next door, was also drifted in above the second story. They punched a tunnel out from inside the office out into the alley. Now THAT was a blizzard. Before anybody laughs, it was uphill both ways with no shoes ... B^)
