I don't think you can say our laws are based on a constitution that is not in use much. It is totally ignored, & because of the poor education that our students are receiving, the electorate are ignorant of the Constitution and the limits it places on the three branches of government. Not only that, but it was purposely done. The 20th century saw education dumbed down to the point that even the smartest of our graduates, with few exceptions, are still illiterate in public or government affairs. They know what they know, but it is narrow and partisan. It is not broad and liberal in the REAL sense of the word as in a liberal arts education, or such. I could name 20 more failures from this century that were not listed here.
