I guess we'll be hearing the "global warming caused the bad weather" meme from the usual suspects. Trouble is, it's contrary to the CO2 induced climate change theory.
More CO2 does not make warm wet air warmer. To the extent it has any effect, it makes cold dry air warmer. Storms are heat engines, deriving their energy to move wind & water from heat moving from warm air to cold air. The power increases with the differences in temperature, & vice versa. If the cold air isn't as cold, heat moves more slowly, less energy is released, storms are less strong & frequent. More & stronger storms indicate, if anything, less effect from CO2, not more.
