Let me get this straight, the union is asking the university to make mandatory payment of dues, for ten years, a part of the union/university contract? And they want this to happen before the RTW law takes effect? I think the university should add an amount equal to the dues in the contract, payable to the university, and deem it a "service fee" for providing the environment in which the union members can work. I mean really, if the union members are stupid enough to allow themselves to be "locked in" with dues for ten years in a RTW state, they are probably stupid enough to pay the employer something for providing the job site. The same logic applies to both circumstances.
